William Lava (1911-1971) worked as a composer and conductor, earning a contract with Republic Studios in 1937 and joined Warner Bros. in 1940. Later he worked with Walt Disney and other studios. He earned the 1964 Academy Award for Best Cartoon Short, "Pink Phink" and he co-authored the music for the movie PT-109.
